Kari Ericksen
Kari Ericksen is a lifelong entrepreneur, philanthropist and design enthusiast. She spent nearly 20 years honing leadership skills in the automotive industry with organizations such as the Entrepreneurs Organization and Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation in Edmonton, Alberta.
In 2016 she moved to Victoria with her family. While living in Victoria, her son went into first grade and became friends with another boy from his class. Kari soon met that boy’s mother; My Phung and a beautiful friendship began…
After moving to Victoria and before the start of Lot 3 Developments, Kari was integral in the building and design of three homes and four buildings from concept to completion. It was during this time that Kari decided to pursue her passion for design and her desire to create beauty by giving back to the city she has grown to love. A partnership with My just felt natural and soon Lot 3 Developments and The Lot 3 Initiative was born.
My Phung
My will happily share her love of all things Vancouver Island and be the first to tell you how lucky she is to have grown up in Victoria.
Her school years including university days were spent all in Greater Victoria, which furthered her love and connection to the community. The first half of her career involved traveling all over Canada but when it was time to start a family there was really no second thought that it would be on the Island and specifically in Greater Victoria.
Having started a career in real estate at a young age she was able to form strong and longstanding relationships within the local industry. These relationships are invaluable to My, especially in a small and tight knit community such as Victoria with most colleagues also considered friends. Lot 3 Developments has given her the opportunity to expand these relationships and allows her to be confident in the product that they create.
Throughout the years, as My witnessed neighbourhoods evolving and growing, she wanted to be part of the change in a positive and more tangible way. So when the light bulb moment happened with Kari back in early 2020 it was exciting and made total sense.
Through her professional career in the appraisal and consulting industry, she had the opportunity to review countless building and floor plans. To witness them go from drawings on a piece of paper to being someone’s home is rewarding. So to now be directly part of the entire process from start to finish and be able to create homes for her community alongside her good friend Kari is an exciting journey she is looking forward to take.
